Fresh out of high-school my confidence wasn’t particularly high. My parents had always done their best to instil self-love into me growing up, so I wasn’t always down on myself, but my lack of height coupled with going through puberty made me not always view myself in the most positive light. So, graduating high-school was a relief. I was finally done with the day to day and was ready to re-invent myself, even go through the oh so elusive glow-up everyone seemed to be going through at that time. I packed up all my things and moved to the Netherlands to pursue further education and my life truly changed.

In university I learned a bunch of life lessons. Eat a lot before you drink because hangovers suck, washing dishes is a real pain, and always check your university email because deadlines sneak up on you real quick. Among all these wonderful lessons I learned a few that have truly transformed my life.

1. No one’s really as focused on you as you think they are.

For any of you self-conscious people out there you’ll know what I’m talking about…

Hi, welcome to my profile. I use writing as an outlet. I get stuck in my own head a lot so I hope to get things off my chest while helping others too!
